We have many options, please click the link in the left sidebar that says “Billing” to get all of the information.
- What container should I use for trash?

You may use your own container. It must have a lid, handles and not exceed 50 pounds. Big “O” Refuse rents 96-gallon containers with a lid, handles and wheels for an additional monthly fee. We do not pick up 55-gallon drums.
- What container should I use for recycling?
- Big “O” Refuse can provide an 18-gallon recycle bin, or use any similar-sized container you’d like, as long as it is marked “Recycle.”
- Are there any limits on yard waste?
- Yes, Big “O” Refuse limits curbside pickup of yard waste to 5 bundles per week. Limbs must be no longer than 4 feet and should be bundled, bagged or boxed.
- Will you pick up carpet, appliances, or furniture?

Yes, Big “O” Refuse has a limit of one large item per week. This includes items too large to fit in your container: appliances, furniture, or carpet that is no wider than 4 feet, rolled and tied.
(Items with Freon must have the Freon removed by a licensed appliance technician.)

- What does Big “O” recycle?

Big “O” recycles aluminum, glass, magazines and junk mail, metal and bi-metal cans, newspaper, paper and cardboard, and plastics (#1#7).
- Can the recyclables be put together?
- Yes, Big “O” Refuse accepts commingled recycling bins.
- Can a homeowner rent a large waste container?

Yes, A residential customer can rent a 2- 4- 6- or 8 yard container or a temporary 20- or 30 yard roll off container.
- Do you accept compact hazardous items like fluorescent light bulbs, tires, liquids or batteries?

No, we do not collect these items due to the fact that they contribute to air and water pollution when put in a landfill. Please contact your local officials or www.CFLPSWD.org for more information about where you can safely dispose of these items.
- Do you rent portable restrooms?

No, we currently handle residential waste, industrial and commercial solid waste and recyclables.
- Are bulky materials such as drywall, concrete, bricks, dirt or rocks acceptable?
- Construction material such as these items can be put in our industrial roll-off containers, or pick up can be arranged by calling Big “O” Refuse Customer Service at 1-888-924-2446 or 740-345-2086.
- Can I put unwanted paint in my trash?
- Paint will only be collected if the lid is off and the paint is dry.
- Do you collect electronics?

No, but there are many free “e-cycling” providers that collect electronic items such as computers and televisions. The website www.earth911.com is a convenient place to search for collectors in your area.
